money isn't everything!

the two stories ("my father goes to court" and "how by brother leon brought home a wife") are very traditional for me.(pinoy na pinoy)

"my father..." is all about two families who have different life styles. the first family was very simple but very happy and energetic. the other is rich but they don't seem to enjoy their wealth. us filipinos are known for being happy people.:)kahit sobrang namumulubi na sa hirap, we would still find a way to enjoy ourselves. the simple family in the story have this trait. they don't have much compared to the rich family when it comes to material things, but it showed that they were very contented with what they have. their family was the reason for their happiness and it kept them healthier compared to the rich family. i believe that "laughter is the best medicine". many people think that being rich is the biggest achievement in a person's life. money can buy a lot of material things but it couldn't buy you happiness especially when you are alone. the rich family may think that they have everything, pero kung iisipin, hindi din because they don't know how to enjoy the most important thing in their lives which is their family.

the story "how my brother leon..."is a different story, medyo weird kasi madalas un lalaki un namamnhikan sa family ng babae. hehe. but it's pretty much the same. the story is basically about a couple who got married without the guy's parents knowing about it. the wife met her husband's family after they got married. the whole story showed how they got to know each other. marriages like this is somehow inappropriate aspecially to us filipinos. but i think slowly it's begining to be normal. hindi katulad dati kailangan malaman pa lahat ng pamilya bago mo pa maging gf o bf. maybe that's the pinoy thing about the story, kahit kasal na, the family members tried to know every detail about the girl hanggang sa kuko. that's the good thing about it. the family still gave maria a chance to get to know them. uso pa namn satin un mga tinataboy sa family pag may ginawa kang "kalokohan".i think this story could really inspire a lot of people who are undergoing the same situation including couples who are getting married.
